We invest twice weekly, generally towards the start and end of each week.
On each trading day we invest recently arrived money, process withdrawals, buy and sell investments related to changing the risk level of a pot, and make any adjustments required to transfer money between pots.
We may adjust these days or the frequency depending on demand and market conditions. We will however trade within a week of the last trade so if you pay in new cash it should be invested within one week as a maximum.
During the first week of each month we carry out our monthly rebalancing exercise where we also make any changes to fully-managed portfolios required by our investment team. In exceptional market circumstances, we may make portfolio changes or invest more frequently.
Fixed allocation portfolios are re-balanced automatically, and are not tied to the monthly re-balance for fully managed portfolios.
After trading you will generally see your new investments reflected by the close of business that day.
If you have recently opened an account with us it can take some time to complete our set up processes before we invest your new payments. With this in mind, even if you send cash to us before an investment cycle it may not be invested until the next to allow us to complete these processes.
Why do we trade twice-weekly?
Trading in bulk is more effective than trading every day. It allows us to buy and sell everyone’s investments at the same time, which means that we can match buyers and sellers internally and keep costs low.
